boardly account deletion
You can delete your boardly account together with your data at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the boardly app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Edit profile.
- At the bottom of the screen, choose “Delete account”.
- Confirm by typing your username.
If you last signed in a long time ago, the app will ask you to sign in again – this protects you in case someone else has access to your unlocked phone.
How to delete your account without the app
Email bsblabs.contact@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my boardly account”. We will delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email.
What we delete
- profile: name, picture, bio, date of birth, gender, city, country,
- collection, wishlist and favourite games,
- game ratings, reviews, comments and likes,
- your messages,
- listings, invitations, meetup attendance and the meetup ratings you received,
- friendships, follows, blocks and notifications,
- offline players and their photos,
- plays you logged that no other boardly user took part in,
- clan memberships and your clan posts and comments,
- sign-in details and the link to your Google, Facebook or Discord account.
What remains (with no link to you)
- plays that other boardly users also took part in – you appear in them as a “Deleted player” so their game history stays complete; your offline players remain in them as names only,
- conversations on the other person's side – without your messages, with a “Deleted player” who can no longer be messaged,
- meetup ratings you gave to other players, without your name,
- games, corrections and covers you submitted to the catalogue,
- clans you created – they stay for the remaining members,
- reports of violations and moderator decisions – for 2 years after the case is closed (required by law),
- anonymised statistics, e.g. how many players were active on a given day.
Backups
Your data may remain in database backups for the backup retention period (up to 30 days). Backups expire automatically and are not used to restore deleted accounts.
Signing in with Google, Facebook or Discord
Deleting your account disconnects it from boardly. You can also revoke boardly's access in your Google, Facebook or Discord account settings – but that does not delete your data in boardly. To do that, delete your account as described above.
